Why We Love
This Home

134 Munson St, Randolph NJ 07869

NATURE LOVERS, and everyone else, welcome to our beautiful home in Randolph, NJ.

In 1987 we built our custom home and have loved living here because of the...NATURAL SETTING: The backyard is wild and wonderful with soaring oaks and maples, with wandering deer, fox, and feathery friends.PEACE & QUIET: Located on a dead-end street, there is little traffic. Relaxing on the deck has been nerve-calming and soul-stretching.SCENIC VIEWS: Built on a high hill, there are beautiful views. In the wintertime when leaves are gone, we can see for miles and miles.BEAUTY of HEDDEN PARK: A 5-minute drive brings us to beautiful Hedden Park. Our weekly walks rejuvenate our bodies, minds, and spirits.CONVENIENT COMMUTE: After a 20-minute walk (or quick drive) to the Dover train station, we easily travel to NYC and other locales.GOOD SCHOOLS: Randolph is known for having good schools. Our kids were well-prepared to achieve excellence in their college education.A Bit More About This House:HIGH BUILD QUALITY: The house is well-built and well-insulated; the first floor walls are up to 20 inches thick, offering excellent insulation and an extremely strong foundation. The 2nd floor 6-inch thick walls also offer excellent insulation.SEPTIC or SEWER: In Nov 2024, the septic system was inspected and found to be satisfactory. Also in 2024, a sewer line was installed at the street level; it has a T-junction in front of our house for a potential connection. Here Are Some House Negatives Which We Think Are Positives:NO GARAGE: Instead of a garage we built a nice family room. We also acquired the .23 acre lot (valued at $100K) next to us which comes with the house; so adding a garage might certainly be possible for a new owner.NO CENTRAL AC/FURNACE: The house is totally electric, energy efficient, and environmentally friendly. The average monthly electricity cost was $212 from Aug 2024 to July 2025 which seems low for a total energy bill. Our wood-burning stove can also lower the energy bill.In 2024 a natural gas line was installed at the street level, so converting to a gas furnace is most likely possible. We use two window air conditioners in July and August.TOWN of DOVER: Our home is in Randolph, but most houses on our street are in Dover. The houses are a bit more modest, but the neighbors are great—very kind, friendly, and helpful.
